I'm having issues with the lost to the ages quest. I have reset to a previous save. Fast traveled away. Waited days. And the quest still says to stand clear. At first the tower never came up and after fast traveling away and coming back its there but there's no lift or door or anything. Katria just keeps saying go ahead give it a try.

If you pick up a shard and it does not update with a quest stage then something was already wrong with the quest. Reading the book would have done nothing basically. I ended up smithing Dwarven Arrows and quickly got my smithing level to 100. atherial crown allows you to have two standing stones but takes helmet slot.
