3 posts · Joined 2015. #1 · Feb 11, 2015. Please Help. I continue to have problems with my 2011 Cruze not starting and displaying the message "service anti-theft deterrent system". Inorder for the vehicle to start, I have to remove key from the ignition, open door and get out of the seat. Then get back into the vehicle and start over.

I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze LT with the 1.4 L turbo. Battery keeps going dead and the “Service Battery Charging System” light is illuminated. I replaced the battery, alternator, and battery sensor. Also checked the battery sensor 5 amp fuse and it was fine. Battery is reading 12.8 volts when charged and alternator is reading 11.70 volts.Many of my friends using CRUZE cars, especially 1.8 engines in Thailand have been experiencing these same problems.
